Civil Engineering
Civil engineering is concerned with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and natural build environment
Foundations
Foundation’s, this is part of a structural system that supports and anchors the superstructure of a building and transmits its loads directly to the earth
Earthwork
Earthwork involves the process to excavate, transport and compact the surface of the earth at another location
Retaining structure
Retaining walls are relatively rigid walls used for supporting soil laterally so that it can be retained at different levels on the two sides. Retaining walls are structures designed to restrain soil to a slope that it would not naturally keep to (typically a steep, near-vertical or vertical slope)
Substructure brickworks
The substructure is the lower part of a building which is constructed below the ground level. The function of substructure is the transfer of loads from the superstructure to the underlying soil
Form Work
Formwork is the term used for the process of creating a temporary mould into which
concrete is poured and formed
Patios, Drives, Surfacing & paving
Patios are most commonly paved with concrete or stone slabs (also known as
paving flags). They can also be created using bricks, block paving, tiles, cobbles, or
gravel. A road surface, or pavement, is the durable surface material laid down on an
area intended to sustain vehicular or foot traffic
